On Tuesday, August 23rd, 17 students from Lakes Community High School participated in the NLCC (Northern Lake County Conference) Leadership Conference which took place at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Entertainment Center.
The students shared the day with the seven other NLCC schools—Wauconda, Grayslake North, Grayslake Central, North Chicago, Antioch, Grant, and Round Lake—with two guest speakers that inspired the students to create their own future and help build the positive values at all of our conference schools. After the keynote sessions, the students participated in breakout sessions that gave them great ideas of ways to improve themselves, their teams or clubs, as well as the school. Working with other students from conference schools and bringing together our hopes and ideas as well as creating friendships was a big part of the day. We hope the students will bring these thoughts and ideas that were shared back to make Lakes an even better place to be!
