District 117 Community Members,
Community High School District #117 is excited to announce this call for community volunteers to serve on our 2023 Strategic Plan Coalition! Follow this link to submit your name as a candidate!
We will select up to 75 volunteers to join the coalition. The selection process will identify a diverse representation of stakeholders that includes students, staff, current parents/guardians, alumni, community members who do not currently have students in our schools, and representatives from community businesses, organizations, and higher education.

What is the Commitment to serve as a member of the coalition?
Volunteers will commit to attending all 4 of our coalition meetings. All meetings will be held from 5:30-8:30 at the LCHS Cafeteria / McKay Center Mezzanine with a light dinner.
- Thursday, March 23 - 5:30-8:30
- Monday, April 3 - 5:30-8:30
- Thursday, April 13 - 5:30-8:30
- Thursday, May 4 - 5:30-8:30

What will the Coalition accomplish?
First, we will review our existing Mission, Beliefs, and Formulas for Success and then make revisions of these components of our current plan that the coalition deems necessary.
Next, we will develop a NEW District 117 Portrait of a Graduate. This "portrait" will identify the critical competencies that our community expects our graduates to develop before they leave our schools. This portrait will serve as the north star for our continuous improvement efforts in the coming years.

Will I receive anything for participating?
You will not receive any compensation for participating, but your name will be included in the final presentation of the new strategic plan when it is presented to our School Board for approval.

Please follow this link to submit your name as a candidate to serve on this coalition if your schedule allows you to commit to attending all four meetings. We will select up to 75 volunteers, balancing the selections to ensure representation of students, staff, current parents/guardians, alumni, community members who do not currently have students in our schools, and representatives from community businesses, organizations, and higher education.
We will contact those who are selected to serve on or before March 9th. Also, look for a community engagement online tool that will be sent out in early March for an unlimited number of community members to provide their feedback online before the coalition convenes for their first meeting.
